About Melissa
Hey Future Student,
A few things about me:
1) I'm a 3rd-year mechatronics engineering student (yes, I've built a robot) so I know a thing or two about math and science and can promise I'll teach you methods to succeed and understand these subjects.
2) I graduated high school with a 97% average while being involved in competitive hockey and many other extracurricular sports.
3) I'm a student leader at Western University. What does that mean? It means I've helped over 80 first-year students with their transition to university, both academically and socially. This means I know how to connect with you so I can tailor my teachings to be most effective in helping YOU!

My lessons are tailored to your needs each session, whether it's an exam coming up, or getting ahead of future content. I prefer a collaborative environment, so lecture-styled sessions are not how I teach. My lessons start with the basics, as everything builds off those fundamentals, and progress to the core material. To ensure my teaching is effective, I incorporate different, engaging strategies, dependent on learning style, that encourage active student participation to ensure I am as helpful as I can be to every student.
