About Nicole
My name is Nicole Ryan Carroll, a tutor & former special education teacher with over five years of experience in the education field. Currently a student a California State University Fullerton’s Master’s in Counseling program, I have extensive experience in K-12 English and Humanities and K-8 Math and Science and am available for academic subject tutoring, high school and college essay writing, ISEE all level and subjects and SAT/ACT Reading, English and Writing test preparation tutoring and organizational skills tutoring. I believe in individualized tutoring plans that build on each student's strengths in order to empower them to become lifelong learners. I look forward to working with you!
I enjoy watching students gain a new perspective on what they are learning and become invested in their own success.
I started by tutoring freshman creative writing students and my love of helping others express their ideas grew from there.
I spent several years teaching and tutoring in co-teaching, small group and one-on-one learning environments and studied education in undergraduate and graduate programs.

I start by identifying what the student enjoys about the subject they are learning as well as their general interests. I then try to incorporate this into what they are learning and build lessons on these interests and their strengths.
Students ranging from preschool through college students with extensive experience in special education.
Look for teachers who value helping students gain a better understanding of their strengths as readers and writers.
