About Charles

I'm really passionate about teaching students the correct way to do questions, as someone who only finished their A Levels 2 years ago I am aware of just how much content there is. However, it is also incredibly important to remember that for humanities it is how one answers the question that makes the difference between an A* level essay and one that doesn't quite reach each students potential. I took pride in learning the absolute best ways to properly break down each question so it is as easy to answer well as possible, and I am absolutely ready to pass down those same tricks to anyone wishing to be tutored by me.

About the lesson

Whilst I am happy to talk about content and memorisation with those I am tutoring, I feel it is a greater use of time honing essay writing skills, including when and how to use examples, proper analysis of key points and accurate use of AOs in exams. Correct essay writing and structure are absolutely key to achieving top grades in both GCSE and A level history and politics. Many capable students with an incredible depth of knowledge lose easy marks due to not knowing how to correctly write essays. Over hour long sessions I will provide both examples of essay structure and give specific writing tasks, as well as covering any specific content that the student wishes to go over.
