About Callum
Hi, I'm Callum - a 2nd year medical student offering tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths at GCSE level
I sat my own exams very recently (2023 GCSEs, 2025 A-Levels), so I know exactly what the current specifications, mark schemes, and examiner expectations look like and I can hopefully use my knowledge to help you achieve as highly as possible in your own exams!
I'm a friendly and patient teacher who will guide you through tailored practice questions, past papers and techniques that earned me A*AA at A-Level and entry into one of the most competitive degrees at university.

I would highly recommend Callum as a STEM tutor. As a fellow medical student, he has helped me through many difficult concepts. What I think is special about the way he teaches is that he doesn’t just spurt out random facts expecting you to blindly memorise them, but that he helps you to understand why a certain concept is the way it is via the application of core knowledge and principles. An example during medical school was when he explained how and why certain kidney medications cause side effects. He did this by supporting me in developing my insight into the kidney’s function (ie sites of absorption). Callum’s methods of teaching are very easy to understand and applicable, so I highly recommend him!
Callum is an excellent STEM tutor — patient, eloquent, and genuinely invested in making sure you understand the material rather than just memorize it. He never rushes or makes you feel bad for asking questions, no matter how basic. He consistently goes out of his way to help beyond the session itself. If you want a tutor who explains things clearly and actually cares about your progress, I'd recommend Callum without hesitation.
I met Callum through my badminton club, a year before I began applying to medical school. He is extremely bright and friendly! He helped me improve my study method and gave me phenomenal tips that he was using while also applying to medical school. They were brilliant ideas that allowed me to approach studying with a new mindset.
I attribute a great deal to Callum helping me get into medicine and passing the first year. I highly recommend him as he knows how to encourage and guide students by setting realistic and attainable targets!Callum was a highly talented, extremely hardworking and focused student of mine. One of best I have had in 21 years as the head of chemistry at Beths Grammar school. He was very meticulous and highly respectful. For any position he is highly recommended.
Kind Regards,
Dr M SalemI met Callum a year ago on our university course, medicine. In this short period of time it stood out to me heavily just how much he values understanding and retaining information, qualities that are reflective in his teaching style.
His study sessions are highly efficient and very well organised to suit both his abstract learning style and the content-heavy curriculum. He ensures to research his topics thoroughly and uses the additional information as cues to remember links between complex topics.
Regarding his personality, I would describe him as a friendly and kind individual. His patience is seemingly unlimited as no matter what the question is, or how many times it has been asked, he will ensure to explain it well enough for it to stick.
I would recommend Callum as a tutor for all students but also students who are more apprehensive or shy as Callum's personality never fails to make anyone feel comfortable and understood.I’ve known Callum for a few years now, and one thing that’s always stood out to me is how hardworking and genuinely smart he is. Whenever he’s explaining something, he has a way of breaking it down so it actually makes sense, no matter how complicated it seems at first.
He’s also incredibly patient and approachable. He never makes you feel silly for asking questions and is always happy to take the time to explain things in a different way if needed. You can tell he genuinely wants people to understand and do well, rather than just giving them the answer.
On top of that, Callum is just a great person to work with - reliable, friendly, and easy to get along with. I honestly think anyone looking for a tutor would be in great hands with him, and I’d have no hesitation recommending him.View more recommendations
