About Zoya
When I was of younger age, I started tutoring children alongside my parents who were also tutors. I learnt quickly that tutoring could be very lucrative and rewarding when the effort was put in. I also enjoyed helping people learn difficult material and knowing that they were progressing in their studies was motivating for me and the student. I focus on children's mental health and the idea of giving children breaks, including food and water breaks (children get hangry!). I believe I am kind and approachable and given the opportunity can instil confidence and positivity into a child's school life.

I start with topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check their understanding continually. I don't lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the student's homework for them but I am able to guide and help them through it if they do need it. My typical length of a lesson is a maximum of an hour and a half but can go up to 2 hours if need be. I am a strong advocate for giving students the breaks they need. I have tutored before, focusing on children in Years 5 and 6 and I taught Maths, English, and Non-verbal reasoning/verbal reasoning. Despite the fact that I am a young tutor, 18 years old, I have the fresh experience of being in school and highly aware of the school environment and curriculum and how to approach your child's needs and studies in the best way possible. I am able to teach children from Year 3 up to Year 11 GCSEs.
