English BA student going on to do a masters next year. Friendly and professional with a background in working with children as a nanny. Passionate about grammar and literature and I create a relaxed, friendly setting! References available if needed. I teach KS2- undergraduate English classes. Particularly fond of helping children with reading comprehension. I have three young siblings who I have helped with English homework for years to great success!

I teach according to the student’s needs whilst incorporating their passions, to try to find a fun and satisfying way to engage with academic work. I am passionate about making others love literature as I do! My background in nannying means I have experience with keeping a professional environment and can communicate with children with ease. I am passionate about getting children to love reading independently. I encourage engagement by allowing the student to teach me while I teach them! From nannying I am aware that children are full of fun and interesting facts and stories and I use this to bring them out of their shell and incorporate it into the lesson! Whilst I absolutely help students get the necessary work done, if on a particular day a child feels less inclined to do the planned lesson and their interest veers in another direction, I exploit this so they can have a fun but educational experience tailored to them. I take a holistic approach so that my students want to be in the lessons.
