About Ahmed

I am confident that my experiences have granted me the abilities to be a great tutor. Getting experience from teaching my siblings and other HSC students has honed my ability to explain complex concepts in ways that are engaging and easy to understand. I have also learned the importance of patience, adaptability, and empathy regarding the student, because ultimately, the goal is to create a supportive learning environment tailored to individual needs. Adding onto my tutoring skills, I have learned to operate in a team/classroom environment through over a decade of playing team sports (cricket, football, basketball), learning to adapt to others' strengths/weaknesses when needed. This offers me another tool when it comes to tutoring, as I have had to use the skill of conflict resolution many times in the past, which is transferable to a classroom setting (online or physical). I can also inspire students by reminding them of the vision they hold for their future selves. Following this, I believe my passion for learning and understanding new concepts is a valuable asset when it comes to tutoring. In high school, I often wasn't satisfied with the base knowledge the syllabus provided, and dove deeper to uncover the root or reason for why something was the way it was. This satiated my thirst for knowledge. Ultimately, I love learning new things, and I believe that through tutoring, I will continue to learn new things, about the subjects I'm teaching and about the people I'm teaching them to; this makes me a great candidate for a tutor.

About the lesson

I can do lessons in-person (within a reasonable distance away) or online via Zoom etc. Typically, a lesson will range from 1 hr 30 mins to 2 hrs, and I will have a PowerPoint presentation prepared with practice questions integrated from different textbooks. Each student will get PowerPoints specifically oriented to their strengths/weaknesses. A reasonable amount of homework will be set in most weeks, and I will actively check and mark homework submissions. I've tutored my siblings formally before, as well as other HSC students ever since my graduation, for tutoring companies. My lessons are primarily for Prelim/HSC students, but I can also teach younger high school students.
