About Libby

Hi there, my name is Libby! After being a swimming teacher from the age of 16-19, I realised the joy of helping others learn, this being something that brings me great joy! My aim through our lessons is to offer a unique experience that will not just help you gain the academic qualifications necessary, but also inspire yourself to realise your full potential. I am a positive and encouraging individual who recognises the importance of confidence and enjoyment in what you are doing. After struggling with not believing in my own ability during my teenage years, I recognise the importance of the encouraging and nurturing approach of a teacher/tutor, something which I pride myself on. All of my students will not just succeed beyond their expectation academically, but also greatly develop their confidence, self-belief, and determination. However, I’m not just a robotic person sitting behind a screen helping you with your academics, I am a passionate individual who loves any sport, apart from snooker which I still stand by isn’t a sport! In my spare time you will more than likely find myself on a cricket pitch or in a swimming pool, two sports I particularly enjoy, sometimes you may even catch me using sport examples to help you understand academics! I also love baking. Chocolate brownies, millionaires shortcake, cookies, pastries, cakes (yes I am also hungry now thinking about these)… you name it, I most likely will have baked it. Oh, I also love pasta, quite possibly a bit too much! So if you are a fellow fun-loving, pasta-addicted, and most importantly passionate individual, then you are looking at the perfect tutor for you! About the lesson

I have prior experience of teaching and understand the importance of a unique and tailored plan for each individual. I would endeavour to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience where they not only can progress with their learning, but enjoy this journey, something which my unique tutoring would offer. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge in special educational needs, both in a mainstream and specialist educational setting, which I especially understand the importance of a tailored and enjoyable experience. My lessons are for secondary school aged children (11-16), this includes KS3 and GCSE exams. These sessions would last between 30 minutes to 1 hour long depending on your request. I achieved grade 9s in both English literature and English language for my GCSEs, followed by achieving an A at A-level
