About Jasper
Last year I graduated from the University of Manchester with a 1st in Ancient History, where I developed my passion for Ancient Graeco-Roman culture. Throughout my studies, I tutored several children and young adults in Classics and History (both Modern and Ancient) in the Greater Manchester area, helping them with the structuring of essays, development of concepts and with general spelling and grammar. I have also worked as a babysitter/ tutor for a number of different families over the years and would be more than happy to provide you with testimonials if requested.

My tutoring approach is dictated by the student’s preferred learning method; for example, if they are a visual learner we will spend time making spider maps with lots of colour and sketches to recall and retain the content in a fun and engaging way. Every pupil has a unique way of learning, so I believe that recognising, understanding and fostering this individuality is a vital step in every student’s educational development, and one that is often overlooked in the national curriculum. I have also developed a 5 point plan to enable students to achieve top grades in exams, which I refined throughout my time at university. This includes the use of mnemonic memory techniques to retain large amounts of information with relative ease, and with practice, in a much shorter space of time. Ultimately, my tutoring objective is to provide pupils with the effective and efficient tools to tackle course content, so that they are well equipped for the next phase of education and can approach any syllabus with confidence.
