About Amanda

As an undergraduate psychology student at UBC, it has been a great passion of mine to work with children and build their knowledge and skills in any way possible. I have had 2+ years of tutoring experience, providing 1 on 1 lessons with younger students to cater to their needs and mine. Moreover, I currently work with students at daycares, and in an out of school care program. I also have 1+ years of experience working with children, helping me build my passion and interest towards working with children.

About the lesson

The lessons I organise will be fun and interactive, it will consists of short and long activities that will help the student engage in the content and learn better. A typical lesson plan would consist of reading a short comprehensive paragraph and then answering some questions from the paragraph as a starting activity. It would then build into forming sentences that range from simple to complex to help the students understand how to formulate good writing skills. As a tutor, I will ensure that the students are receiving my best interest at heart and I will focus on what is best for them and how I can build their knowledge, whilst also improving mine. These lessons would mainly be catered towards, 6-12 year olds.
