About Dianne
I have a Certificate of Advanced Study in French Language and Literature from Oxford Polytechnic in Oxford, England, gained by three years of intensive study and language immersion. I have two years of experience tutoring French I and French II high school students, helping both those with a passion for language and those who struggle with foreign languages to succeed and improve their grades by an average of two full letters. Salut! I specialize in tutoring middle school and high school beginning French students. I do not provide a replacement for their academic curriculum, but empower them to succeed in mastering it and provide learning enrichment. I help students identify their learning style and overcome obstacles to learning so that they can "penser en français" and avoid word-for-word translation errors. Creating a relaxed atmosphere for students of all ability levels, I make grammar concepts for French I and French II students easier to grasp and help them learn vocabulary in groupings that make sense, establishing a solid foundation for more advanced language development. My use of a conversational approach that welcomes questions facilitates application of academic concepts to real-life contexts. For students with a solid grasp of French I and II grammar who want more practice speaking or need help with pronunciation, I also offer conversation sessions. I have experience working with neurodivergent students and students with learning disabilities.
