About Madelaine
About me:
My name is Madelaine.
Qualifications: I have a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Teaching (Secondary) and am currently in my final year of my Master of Education (Teacher Librarian).
Experience: I have 2 years casual teaching experience in both primary and secondary schools and currently work as a library assistant. I have taught students from 7-12 in small-large classroom settings, assisted with homework center and within the library assisted home-schooled students with research assessment tasks.
Why do I want to tutor? I understand everyone has strengths and things to improve; needs some confirmation that they are on the right track or some explicit instructions/examples to understand content. That’s what I am here for! I look forward to developing knowledge, understanding and skills in my future students.

My approach to tutoring and teaching:
1. Formal but comfortable - let’s get to know each other, I will host some diagnostic (pre-tests) to gain an idea on your strengths on the topic and what we can work on.
2. I blend explicit teaching and instruction with student independent work and leave time for collaboration between pairs/small group works towards end of lessons.
3. Typical length: From 1hr-3hr lessons. I am flexible!
4. Who are my lessons for: Primary students, Years 7-12 or those in tertiary education.
