About Merilee (Mezza)

Merilee is a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama's Masters of Arts (Music Theatre) Program. She is a professional actor, currently performing on a year long contract in a London immersive production, and also an experienced teacher of musical theatre and drama. She is passionate and empathetic teacher, focussed on helping her students develop their artistic skills, build confidence and achieve their goals. She is also a qualified chaperone and has undergone associated safeguarding training.

MUSICAL THEATRE COACHING

Do you want to take to the stage in your first musical or step into your first leading role, but need more support to get there? As a professional musical theatre performer and teacher, I have years of experience both on the stage and supporting young students on their artistic journeys.

Whether your goal is the school musical, an exam or developing your skills for fun, I am passionate about developing your confidence and performing skills and helping you to achieve your goals.

DRAMA SCHOOL AUDITION COACHING

So you (or your child) are dreaming of going to drama school but need some support along the way? I have been there. It took me FIVE YEARS of auditioning before being accepted into one of the top drama schools in the world. The main reason? I didn’t have the support of a coach until that very last year.

That’s why I am passionate about supporting students on their journey. I use my years of experience auditioning for and training at drama school to help my students give the best audition possible. My goal is to create a safe space for my students to develop their skills and display their unique talents.

LESSONS CAN INCLUDE:

+ Finding songs and/or monologues that show off your best skills
+ Analysing the material
+ Working on emotional preparation
+ Shaping the pacing and (where applicable) musical styling of the piece
+ Developing appropriate movement skills
+ (Where applicable) mock auditions/exams to run through the process from start to finish

First free session will involve a chat about your goals, some workshopping of your existing repertoire and developing a game plan for your development.
