About Rodrigue
I am 2nd year student at Sciences-Po enrolled in the dual BA with Columbia University, I grew up in the United States before taking the baccalaureate at EJM (École Jeannine Manuel). Therefore, I am perfectly bilingual. I already have experience as English and Math tutor.
But I am not defined only by academics. I am passionate about sports and would like to work in this area later. I have always played club football and participated in several ski competitions.
Finally, I would say that I am a pretty outgoing person and that I like to meet new people. So, if tutoring is a way to learn, I consider it a way to meet you as well.
If you trust me, I will help you with your academic journey and make sure the classes are fun to take.

After giving classes to students of different ages, I believe in adapting these lessons to the students I work with.
When I helped children in Primary, I always tried to have rather enjoyable lessons, sometimes in the form of games. For example, when I taught a third grade girl the basics of English, I taught her certain key words in order to play 'Who Am I' with her. This makes it possible to see the class session as a fun learning time rather than as a chore.
For older students, I first try to talk with them for 5 minutes at the start of the session in order to establish a relationship so that the cooperation is better and the course more pleasant to live. If I had to describe a typical 2 hour session, I would do it this way: 5 minutes of discussion at the start of the class (both to talk and to know what to work on today), one hour of hard work (whether it's the resolution of exercises or comprehension of a course), a 5 minute-break so as not to explode before finishing on 50 minutes of work.
All in all, I am convinced that a tutor should try to build a relationship with the student he/she is taking care of. Indeed, private lessons are sometimes seen as a chore since they add extra work to the one done at school, which can be annoying. That's why I think it's important to get along with each other so that the lesson is less of a burden for the student - and that it goes well.
