About Karen

I have a calm and reassuring approach putting students at their ease so that they can immerse themselves in the language and begin to enjoy hearing themselves progress. I have ten years' teaching experience which includes French, German and EFL and at all levels from age 9 up to adult. I taught English in France during my degree and then for a year in Japan after I graduated. I also taught EFL to young and older adults in summer schools in London. I have taught French and German from beginner to A' level in several different schools in the UK and have achieved excellent results at GCSE. I also tutored on a one to one basis. I have taken time out to raise a family and renovate a house but would now like to combine my two passions of languages and teaching and return to tutoring. Throughout this time, Karen has been a loyal friend. I would describe her as kind, trustworthy and extremely reliable. On a number of occasions I have asked her to help with picking up our children and even having them to stay overnight. I always know they will be well cared for by Karen and they enjoy her company.
I know she has been an active member of the school PTA (parent teacher association) and done this with enthusiasm and excellent organisational skill.
