About Malynda
I have been an educator for over 30 years. I have taught in the public school system as well as in private schools and homeschoolers. I have taught every grade level over my career, PK-12. I have an ESL certification and have worked with emergent English readers throughout my teaching career as well. Teaching kids how not only to figure out a particular concept or lesson but to figure out how to advocate for themselves and their education is my goal. I just retired from the traditional classroom and am looking forward to expanding my teaching career to the online community.

I understand how difficult it can be to get teachers to really listen to what a student needs. One of my goals as a tutor and teacher is to build a trusting rapport with my students so they feel comfortable expressing how I can help them to better understand. I work with students who have challenges with reading comprehension, recall, phonemic awareness, and fluency. I use a variety of methodologies and interventional tools like decoding, whole language, and writing. I work with students of all ages and backgrounds. I look forward to hearing from you and getting to work on your Reading and ELA skills.
