About Jacob
I’m a 20-year-old Classics student at Balliol College, Oxford, which means I spend most of my time wrestling with ancient languages and occasionally emerging victorious. I got A*s in Latin and Greek A-level—proof, perhaps, that enough enthusiasm can overcome even the trickiest of irregular verbs. Back at school, I taught Latin grammar to younger students, something both enjoyable and extremely satisfying when things started to click. I’ve always loved the ancient world, despite its many attempts to confuse, confound, and conjugate me into submission. When I need a break from all that, I write music and play guitar in the 21st century.
