About Len (Margherita)
I have been giving private lessons of English and Italian since the age of 18, while living in the UK, Canada, Malta and Italy. I have taught people of all ages (from 3 to 57), whether the goal was to prepare them to sit in an exam or face the obstacle of a new language following their relocation to a different country.
I have been working in the entertainment industry for the past five years and my studies encompassed all sides of it; from film & TV, to fashion, to musical performance. I have studied acting and accents, which has helped - along with my musical ear - to understand the qualities of different accents and to improve one's own accentual tendencies.
I have moved abroad when I was fourteen, so I understand and relate to people who need to integrate. I love anything to do with self-expression and art, language and music being my main tools of communication.

I first assess the level that a student is at, then get acquainted with how they absorb information. We are all different in that respect; some people are visual, others are auditory, others kinaesthetic. Understanding a student's most natural sensory tendency is essential to impart the information successfully and, more importantly, to form a good teacher-student relationship.
The next step is to understand what a student (or whoever decides for them) wants to achieve, so that a syllabus can be shaped accordingly.
Learning should be fun, interesting and always keep the learner engaged - not something to be dreaded. When students are given the chance to truly appreciate what they are learning, the best results are achieved - and that is a fact, not just my opinion.
