About Mackenzie
I have taught French for over 5 years and hold a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Language Education. My focus is guiding students toward mastery of advanced literature and theory. Lessons are designed to be structured, engaging, and challenging. We work on reading difficult texts with clarity and depth. Students learn to analyze style, context, and theme. I also teach them to connect literature to larger philosophical movements. Essay writing plays a central role in my lessons. I emphasize critical argumentation and academic precision. Research techniques are woven into every assignment. I encourage students to engage with French texts as thinkers, not just readers. My teaching balances rigor with encouragement. Students emerge more confident in their intellectual skills. The ultimate goal is to prepare you to succeed in French literature and to thrive in academic discourse.

I design my lessons to give learners the tools to succeed academically and socially in France. Structured review ensures that key concepts stay clear, while targeted practice prepares for real-life use. We cover academic writing, note-taking, and presentation skills. University systems can feel complex, so I also explain how to register for classes, understand timetables, and use campus services. Communication plays a big role, from speaking with professors to working with classmates. Heritage learners benefit from deepening their fluency, while travelers gain cultural and practical readiness. I use authentic materials such as syllabi, university emails, and announcements for practice. Students also explore everyday tasks like setting up housing and handling paperwork. I aim to create a safe space for practicing without fear of mistakes. Each learner moves forward at a pace that suits them. The goal is always academic success paired with confidence in daily life. With guidance, learners grow prepared and independent.
