About Michael
My name is Michael Gerwe, and I've been learning French for 10 years and tutoring it for 3 years. I'm Russian-American, spoke English, Spanish, and Russian before learning French. I've always had an affinity for foreign languages and the way they work and connect to other languages. I ended up completing AP French with a 5, while tutoring several of the other students in the class in order to help them build their French fluency. I got my official seal of French biliteracy this year and will help you achieve your French goals. Whether you're starting at the very beginning or struggling in your studies like I was, I've got your back as you improve your confidence in not just French but all linguistics as a whole.

Learn French from a tutor who understands your struggles in learning the language. Trust me, I've been where you are now. Either wanting to start the language with no idea where to begin, or struggling through your studies, wanting that extra push. Wherever you are in your French expertise, I've been through it all and can tailor lessons personally, unlike any other tutor. I specialise in increasing one's ability to think in French rather than just memorising. We'll work on understanding the connections between French and English, likely increasing your English skills while we're at it in order to improve your overall understanding and fluency in the language as opposed to just being able to take the tests well. No matter where you are in your French skills, give me an hour a week, and you'll drastically see improvements in your language skills as well as overall feeling more confident as a student and French speaker.
