About Zara
Bonjour, my name is Zara.
I have been tutoring languages (and also violin) to people of all ranges and abilities in one-to-one classes for several years. I have found through my personal experience that immersion in a language is the best way to learn, and I will help you to be as immersed as you can so you can learn quickly and effectively.
I have been studying French for over 11 years now, and I graduated with a First Class degree. I gained experience as a translator for a French charity in Paris, as well as teaching experience as a tutor with Babylangues. I have experience teaching in schools internationally, including in India and Northern Ireland.
I am excited to help you develop your skills as well as your confidence so that you can pass your exams with flying colours and have conversations with native speakers!

I love languages and people, and I am passionate about empowering you to reach your language learning goals!
Together we will discuss your aims and areas of concern, then I will personalise our lessons so you can meet (and exceed) your language learning goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, nervous about passing your GCSE, or confident in the basics and looking to master French, our lessons will be engaging, encouraging and tailored to your needs. I have a range of resources from my teaching experience which make lessons interactive and enjoyable. Depending on your needs our sessions will include a mixture of general conversation, role playing, listening exercises, writing exercises and tailored vocabulary and comprehension exercises. I can give you extra resources to help you practice areas of difficulty between sessions.
Lessons are typically 45minutes-1hr and can be flexible to meet your needs.
A little more about me and my qualifications:
In my final year of the University of Reading I achieved awards for the highest First Class degree and outstanding translation.
I have spent over a year in France developing my language skills as a translator, as well as my tutoring skills. I was a Language Tutor with Babylangues in Paris in 2023, teaching children aged 4 to 11. Having a C2 CEFR Level in French, I have the ability and qualifications to tutor up to A Level.
