About Gabriel
I'm a qualified English, History and music teacher. In this period of uncertainty, I can ensure that your child's education remains current. Having achieved 100% in my English Language and, amongst others, 99% in Religious Studies IGCSEs I can provide both the factual and and linguistic skills needed for success.
The English Language (I)GCSE is a lot like Maths. To achieve a high result, your child must be able to deploy a set number of rhetorical and linguistic devices in his/her essay and creative writing piece. My teaching focus is to ensure that each student, whether KS3 or GCSE-level, has an excellent command of grammar: the successful deployment of cola, semi-cola, commas, full-stops, etc. and also of rhetorical and linguistic techniques: fragments, rhetorical questions, basic and advanced alliteration, onomatopoeia, verb modality, chiasmus, anaphora, polysyndeton, asyndeton etc.
GCSE English Language is marked with a rigid rubric: to master the rubric is to master persuasive English.
Religious Studies and History require a vast amount of factual knowledge. This presents as an obstacle for many students, but can quickly be overcome. The New Testament (RS) and historical events should be taught first as an academic narrative and then as sophisticated analysis to aid memory, proper exam-technique and success.
As a student of Higher Education, I am also experiencing the great uncertainty coronavirus is bringing upon the completion and examination of my Pre-Us (equivalent to A-Levels). I hope that I can help your child stay on top of their work and master their subject in this time of uncertainty and difficulty.

I have known Gabriel Brown since he was a small boy. He has grown into a very talented young man, acutely perceptive both as a scholar and as a mature member of society. His intellectual accomplishments are already broad and deep, and he will be an ideal tutor for anyone lucky enough to study with him.

I have known Gabriel since before he was a teenager. I taught him music and have known his family now for many years. He is highly intelligent, talented in an impressive range of ways and has always been high-achieving and hard-working. He has always been devoted to furthering his knowledge through learning and participation in numerous activities - academic, musical, charitable and sporting. He has won an impressive array of awards in numerous fields, including history, economics, philosophy and music (for which he has achieved advanced performance levels in piano, oboe and voice). He is also a deeply caring human being, with a natural gift to communicate with others and connect with individuals in a way suited to their unique natures. For these reasons, I am certain that he would by an ideal asset to any tutoring service and I strongly recommend him.
