About Lydia
I am currently studying French and German at Durham University. I've attained the highest grades in French at GCSE, A Level, and Undergraduate level, and I have a C2 Level fluency in French. I spent one year as the co-chair of Durham University's MLAC Outreach programme, which aims to teach languages and their benefit to pupils across the North East. As such, I have organised and taught many workshops in grammar and translation at every level of secondary school. Having studied and taught French for a long time, I understand how complicated or tricky it can often seem. I hope to be able to help others navigate the more difficult parts of my favourite language and make French work for you, not the other way round!

My approach to teaching differs on your ability level. For more beginner-level learners I will focus on basic grammar points such as getting to grips with noun genders, sentence structure, and using the present tense. I will also help beginner learners introduce new vocabulary to their speech and writing. For GCSE and A-Level students, I will cover more complex grammar points and go over the set-texts and topics of their in-school curriculum. I am well-read in what these are for each exam board. I can assure I will teach them to the highest standard as someone who has engaged with students over these texts and subjects before. I will also be happy to provide free tests aside from lessons in speaking, writing, and grammar with students who would like to brave the extra mile and strengthen their abilities! Also - If you're seeking to strengthen a specific ability area (e.g., speaking or reading), or you'd like help understanding a specific area of French I am happy to help here also :)
