Hi there! I am a recent English Literature graduate from the University of Leeds, and I am now available to tutor students in English studies from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5 all the way through to A-level. As a competent and dedicated tutor, students may expect to experience a definite improvement in their ability to understand English language, engage with, analyse and interpret set texts (poetry, plays, novels etc.), as well as how to write and structure their responses successfully (essay and exam writing skills).
From novels to poetry, drama to non-fiction you'll undertake in-depth textual study, gaining advanced skills in interpretation, critical analysis and reasoning.
(A-level) students will also explore the historical, social and cultural contexts of the texts we study. They will trace the development of English Literature though time, exploring changes in narrative techniques and discursive practices used by writers.
Furthermore, students will learn how to dramatically improve their ability to write in the style of creative, informative, argumentative and persuasive texts.
My aim is to empower my students, ensuring that they realise their own ever-growing potential and develop the ability to engage in English studies with confidence and self-esteem.
