About Lorna
Hi! I am a student teacher who is currently placed in a high school English classroom. I am extremely passionate about the importance of being an effective writer and reader, and love to talk to students about these topics. I have had extensive experience working one-on-one with students--as an assistant theater director, a camp counselor, and a writing club leader. My lessons always begin with identifying clear objectives and goals for the session. I will provide a short lesson and recap on relevant content. Then, we will work together to review content and engage in active practice. If a student has homework or other essays and assignments, we will review them and I will provide specific and meaningful feedback. Sessions will end with a quick summary of our practice and of the student's upcoming goals.
Sessions are always catered to student needs, so lessons may be subject to change based on what would best serve the student.
