About Alyssa
I have 10 years of experience as a classroom teacher and as a reading specialist at the elementary level, with a focus in grades K-3. My passion is early literacy skills and teaching reading using science-backed strategies. I am trained in the latest Science of Reading strategies as well as have many years of experience using a variety of high-quality phonics and trainer curricula and literacy tools. I have a lot of knowledge around the sequences and ways that students take to acquire reading skills.

I love to meet with students who need extra help with reading, finding the areas where there is a gap and using engaging, impactful, data- driven tools to help fill those gaps. Lessons will use a variety of activities, be well paced to keep them engaged the whole time and be focused on the specific skills that student needs.
