About Lik (Wallace)

I received my Bachelor of Arts, where I majored in Geography (Environment and Sustainability) and minored in Sociology, from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2021. I then received a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) with Practicum (CTESL) in 2022 and a Diploma in TESL in 2023 both from UBC. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in TESL at the University of Alberta. Sharing is an integral part of my life. In sharing food, experiences, feelings, beliefs, and values since childhood, I have attained huge satisfaction in daily life and continuous reassurance of personal identity. As a private English tutor in recent years, I have succeeded in inspiring my students, in addition to language learning, and, consequently, received great recognition from the parents. Through such tutorials, I have been highly motivated, vowing to be an ever-better tutor and person. I believe that teaching is a highly viable means of sharing. How nice it will be to have the privilege of sharing my knowledge and insight with the younger generation and to witness their academic growth and personality development through effective learning.

About the lesson

I try to use my students' hobbies as teaching materials to make my lessons more interesting. I have been mainly teaching students who are between 9-17 years old, and I have taught adults before. My lesson normally includes an introduction, learning activity, feedback, and conclusion/review.
