About Tristan
I have been playing music since I was a young child and have over 15 years of live performing experience from busking to touring Europe with several bands. I've written, co-written and produced several albums and tracks from acoustic solo work to experimental electronic. I love music and it is the most important part of my life and I can't wait to share that with you.

My approach has always been to focus on the student's personal music taste and aspirations and relating those to core music theory and practice. Music is a highly subjective pursuit and I believe that inspiring confidence in one's own abilities and taste is paramount. Show me the music that you love and we will find a way to break it down to its basic components and in turn develop your own personal and unique style that you can be proud of. My own personal specialities are fingerstyle playing, songwriting and performing with both vocals and guitar. I have several years' experience teaching music privately and at the Bandmakers music academy where we focused on the Trinity examination system. Students of all ages are welcome. My lessons typically last 45 minutes to one hour. For younger students I find that extending the lesson time over 45 minutes often leads to less productivity while older students may appreciate more one-on-one time.
