About Cleo
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and have spent over seven years tutoring students across different skill levels. From elementary learners to adult professionals, I’ve supported a wide range of goals—whether mastering foundational grammar or preparing for high-stakes exams and interviews. My teaching method is highly adaptable. I listen closely to my students' challenges and shape lessons to meet those needs directly. I focus on progress through patience, personalized feedback, and building confidence with every session. Language becomes easier when learners feel heard, understood, and supported in every interaction. Outside tutoring, I’ve worked on writing projects, peer-editing, and coaching public speaking. These experiences help me bring practical insight into grammar, tone, and written presentation. I aim to empower learners to express themselves more clearly, creatively, and convincingly in both casual and academic settings.

In the early stages, lessons focus on laying the groundwork with grammar essentials, vocabulary development, and proper sentence formation. Students engage with structured exercises and creative writing prompts to build clarity and confidence. Reading short passages and practicing conversation help reinforce understanding and encourage active language use.
As students grow, we explore paragraph development, critical thinking in reading, and organizing thoughts clearly in writing. Lessons include focused work on spelling, transitions, and interpreting different text types. Students are introduced to persuasive, narrative, and descriptive writing forms, applying these to structured assignments with peer-level complexity.
For advanced learners, sessions turn toward polishing academic essays, analytical writing, and preparing for standardized tests or interviews. Emphasis is placed on clarity of thought, tone, and argument structure. We also explore advanced literature and language techniques to sharpen reading analysis and refine overall expression across written and spoken English.
