About Caroline
I am a writer and academic advisor with a passion for creativity. I graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in political science and an interest in every subject and field of learning. I have extensive experience preparing successful academic applications and developing students' writing skills.
I know that writing assignments and applications can be intimidating. Each and every student I teach comes to me with existing writing skills, but they may not know what those skills are. We will work together to strengthen those skills and learn how we can best move forward. I help my students become comfortable taking any test and developing any type of writing.
Writing and test preparation do not need to be stressful or overwhelming. We will accomplish our writing goals with comfortable and effective lessons.

My key values as a tutor are patience and persistence. I work to identify areas in which each student can improve, as well as the strengths they are bringing to our lessons. Students thrive academically when they develop confidence in their ability to achieve their goals. We will work together to correspond the student's learning experience to their expectations and needs.
Every lesson is modified for each student according to their learning style, existing skills, and academic objectives.
I begin by asking my students to share a piece of academic or creative writing. I ask students who are not comfortable writing to do a brief assignment in a subject matter or format that interests them. Together we find the student's learning style and outline specific skills to develop and goals to achieve.
After the initial lesson, we will always begin with areas in which students are already confident. We move forward by building on those skills to succeed further in all areas of writing.
I help students at all levels of mastery and confidence. We strengthen writing skills for any assignment, and prepare for success in any writing exam or evaluation.
