About Felipe

With over 8 years of experience as a vocal coach, I have worked with more than 150 students, helping them improve their technique, build confidence, and find their authentic vocal voice. My approach to teaching is rooted in flexibility and a deep understanding of the individual needs of each student. I firmly believe that every voice is unique, and my goal is to help each student cultivate their voice in a healthy and expressive way. My lessons focus on vocal technique, breath control, and proper alignment, which are crucial for creating a strong, sustainable sound. I also emphasize the importance of vocal health and maintenance, helping students avoid strain and injury while expanding their range and versatility. In addition to building technical skills, I integrate performance coaching into every lesson. Singing is not just about hitting the right notes; it’s about connecting emotionally with the music and delivering an authentic performance. Whether preparing for a recital, audition, or casual performance, I work with students to enhance their stage presence, manage nerves, and express themselves confidently through song. I use a variety of methods to keep lessons engaging and fun. From incorporating popular songs to exploring different vocal techniques such as breath control, vibrato, and vocal dynamics, I ensure that each student’s learning experience is enjoyable and challenging. I also provide my students with opportunities for creative expression, whether it’s through improvisation, songwriting, or simply experimenting with different vocal styles. My students come from diverse backgrounds and musical interests, and I work with them on a range of genres, including pop, jazz, classical, and musical theater. Over the years, many of my students have gone on to perform in school musicals, join choirs, and even pursue professional music careers. I’m passionate about helping students of all ages and skill levels develop their musical talents and confidence, and I am committed to fostering a positive, nurturing learning environment for everyone.

About the lesson

My experience as a vocal coach spans more than 8 years, during which I’ve taught singers from all walks of life—beginners with no musical background, young students exploring their potential, adult learners returning to music after years, and working professionals seeking vocal refinement. My teaching philosophy is grounded in the principle that every voice is capable of growth with the right guidance, patience, and technique.

I design lessons around the unique qualities of each student’s voice, always with an emphasis on vocal health and artistic authenticity. Our work begins with the fundamentals—breath coordination, vocal support, resonance, and efficient sound production. These basics are vital to building strength, stamina, and flexibility in the voice. As the foundation solidifies, I incorporate exercises that challenge range extension, register blending, vibrato control, and expressive variation. I encourage my students to understand not just how to sing a song, but why it’s sung a certain way. Lyric interpretation, musical phrasing, and tone shaping are explored in every lesson, helping students become not just better singers, but thoughtful musicians. I teach across a wide spectrum of genres, adapting techniques to suit everything from opera to contemporary pop, folk to jazz, R&B to musical theater.

My approach to performance coaching includes mental preparation, movement, microphone technique, and emotional grounding—critical elements for singers looking to take their skills to a stage or audition. I foster an atmosphere of openness and creativity where students feel safe to experiment, make mistakes, and grow. My ultimate goal is to empower singers with the tools and mindset needed to express themselves fully and continue evolving long after our lessons end.
