About Glen

I’m a vocal tutor with 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, with a concentration in Lieder and Art Song. While my background is rooted in classical technique, my passion lies in helping jazz and blues singers explore vocal improvisation. I specialize in teaching scat singing, melodic embellishment, and navigating advanced harmony with confidence and creativity. My lessons strike a balance between technical skill and musical freedom. I incorporate ear training, scale and chord theory, and practical exercises to strengthen your improvisational instincts. About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on helping singers build a strong, reliable ear for accurate and confident singing. Good pitch isn’t just something you’re born with—it’s a skill that can be trained. My lessons focus on ear training, interval recognition, and pitch-matching through practical and engaging exercises.

We work on identifying intervals by sound and feel, building the ability to recognize and reproduce them accurately with your voice. I also teach how to harmonize, both by ear and with music, so you can blend easily in duets, ensembles, or group settings. You’ll learn how to stay anchored in your part, even when surrounded by complex harmonies.

I’m especially effective with singers like The Advanced Teen and The Quartet Player, guiding them to hear and match pitch effortlessly. I offer consistent, clear feedback to help fine-tune accuracy and build vocal trust. Each lesson is paced to your level, gradually strengthening your pitch control and musical awareness.
