About Vivian
I am a violin tutor with more than 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance (Baroque Violin). I love working with young children and giving them a musical foundation that is both fun and strong. My approach emphasizes early ear training and aural skills. I use creative strategies like storytelling, rhythm games, and movement to keep lessons engaging. Children learn to sing and clap rhythms before playing. Simple songs help build confidence and technique step by step. I adapt Suzuki and Kodály methods to fit the needs of each student. Lessons are designed to be playful but also purposeful. I celebrate progress in small steps to keep children motivated. Each child’s imagination is encouraged and valued. My historical background helps me teach expressive playing from the beginning. I want my students to feel that music is alive and exciting. Every lesson is filled with joy, discovery, and growth.

My teaching method for violin is clear and systematic. Sight-reading is developed through structured practice. Students learn to handle ledger lines, tricky rhythms, and multi-part scores. The focus is on building quick visual-to-finger response. Each lesson combines drills with practical application. I want learners to connect the page with the instrument instantly. Musical Theatre Enthusiasts benefit by being able to read on the spot during rehearsals. Worship Singers also gain the ability to read confidently in performances. Progress is built step by step with steady reinforcement. Lessons are adapted to the pace of each student. I encourage a supportive and positive environment. Over time, students develop fluency and independence. The end result is the ability to play new music with ease and joy.
