About Rani
I have over 8 years of experience as a singing tutor with a Bachelor of Music Education, focusing on voice. My passion lies in working with choirs, vocal ensembles, and group harmony training. I specialise in styles like Classical, Sacred, A Cappella, and Barbershop, helping students develop strong, blended vocal sounds. I’m skilled in sight singing, solfège, choral blend, and part singing techniques. Leading rehearsals and guiding groups to harmony and confidence is one of my strengths. Over the years, I have worked successfully with school choirs, college ensembles, and community singing groups. My teaching approach focuses on creating a positive and supportive environment where every voice matters. I believe singing together builds not only vocal skills but also a strong sense of community. For church ensemble players, I focus on clear diction, controlled breath support, and blending with harmony to fit sacred and choral settings. Crossover artists learn to shift vocal tone, dynamics, and phrasing to suit diverse genres, from smooth jazz runs to pop’s energetic delivery. Both personas work on pitch control through targeted exercises and ear training, essential for accurate harmony and improvisation. I use modern tech tools like DAWs for recording practice sessions, metronomes for timing, and pitch training apps to track progress and fine-tune intonation. This combination helps students self monitor and grow independently. Musicality is key: we explore stylistic nuances in each genre, encouraging emotional connection and authentic expression. Lessons are personalised, focusing on each student’s vocal strengths and goals. Whether singing in a choir or on stage, students gain confidence, technical skill, and creative freedom. This balanced approach makes mastering multiple genres engaging and achievable.
