My lessons are designed to be engaging and effective. Online sessions are conducted through Zoom meetings, easily scheduled via Google Calendar, leveraging online tools for an enriched learning experience. Initially, I assess the student's level through a series of questions, allowing us to discuss goals and tailor a plan to their specific needs. Then the lessons start with a brief theory introduction before diving into intense practice sessions. I provide problems at various difficulty levels to ensure thorough understanding and steady progress, supplemented by quick tests to assess comprehension. I've found that regular weekly sessions are optimal for high school students, emphasizing personalized guidance and consistent progress tracking. With university students, I adjust to their curriculum and scheduling needs for an efficient learning experience. Seniors also receive tailored support to meet their goals, whether it's preparing for university or reviewing essential concepts. Whether we're starting from the basics or delving into advanced topics, my goal is to empower you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in maths and/or physics.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and private tutoring?

When I was in high school maths and science, in general, were the easy subject for me. I was told by my teachers to support my classmates and I think that since 8th or 9th grade I started to be kind of a tutor for my friends. Social sciences though were my week side and so they helped me a lot as well. When I started Uni, It was a good way for me to get some extra money, however about midway I got so many students that I couldn't handle them, they sometimes asked me for extra time and for other subjects. Then set a small group of teachers in different areas that were around the city tutoring. Since then I haven't stopped teaching and supporting students. Now with the internet, I can do it all over the world, although I have had mini breaks due to research and travelling.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach and the topics you like to discuss with students (possibly those you like a little less).

I teach mostly physics, maths and chemistry to students in the last years of high school or almost any high university-level students. I have taught small kids in primary school, however, I think I have a better vibe with the big ones and mature people.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I remember that my physics teacher was Fernel and nobody liked him because he was really mean and cranky during the lessons. However I remember that he explained really well and his voice was really strong, he seemed to be yelling all the time, but that was his way to keep the class quiet and paying attention.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs a connection with the student. It is not knowing the topics well and understanding the way the students think and making them feel confident to ask and make mistakes. Learning is a journey and teachers and tutors need to build motivation that makes them create or discover their own way to learn.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I would say that I decided to study physics in 10th grade when I had to do a project in holography. I went to the National University to find information about it and I had a chat with some of the physicists that later on were my teachers in my bachelor. They just showed me the labs and the projects they were working on at that time.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

There were many difficult subjects and teachers in my bachelor and master. Of course, there were many topics that I had to read and practice heaps of times. I remember one special subject that was really hard for me it was called Topology. It is a really formal and abstract mathematical way to study simple things. However, it is a different and advanced way of reasoning.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Teaching, learning and researching are my main passions and my profession. Nevertheless, music is my hobby and my other occupation. I have been in different bands and music groups playing guitar, charango, flute, quena and different percussion instruments. I also do guitar lessons if you are interested.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P)?

More than 15 years of experience teaching, mentoring and tutoring.
