About Andrew
Academic Background: I received my Bachelors of Science with majors in physics, mathematics, and psychology with a minor in neuroscience from the University of South Carolina Honors College this spring. With a 3.497 GPA, I have been able to complete these degrees in only five years. I have spent a considerable amount of time in research projects in both psychology (specifically in neuroimaging research) and physics writing (particle theory). That being said, I have the skillset to teach at a high level to those looking to learn and manage a strong schedule to provide adequate services.
Tutoring background: I have been a tutor for four years in calculus and physics for the NROTC at UofSC and am one of the officers of the Society for Physics students who works during our club sponsored homework help time. Further, I have worked with kids in summer camps as an instructor for STEM based camps that rely heavily on teaching advanced skills to students who would otherwise not see those concepts until much later in their education. Having all of this under my belt, I am prepared to help guide you and motivate you to succeed.

Mathematics and physics are not ever persons favorite class. They were mine, and hence why I pursued my degree, but I have found myself to be an outlier. That being said, whether you are wanting to learn physics because you are fascinated by the world around you or you are just trying to pass a class so you can make the grades you need, I am excited to get the chance to work with you.
Get to Know Me: A quick little blurb about me so you know a bit more about who will be working with you. My name is Andrew and graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College, earning my Bachelors of Science with majors in Physics, Mathematics, and Psychology, and a minor in neuroscience. Since I was quite young I had a passion for science and discovered that I wanted to be a lifelong learner, developing myself as a greater citizen of the universe as I look to uncover more about what makes this beautiful place beautiful. I have participated in research in physics and psychology and have a fascination with particle physics, nuclear theory, and mathematical physics specifically.
Promise: This tutoring will provide you with the skills required to achieve your goals. We will work together to go through topics and bridge the gap between your current understanding and where you hope to be. I am prepared to teach middle school mathematics to college linear algebra in mathematics and from introductory algebra based physics to quantum mechanics in physics.
My style: Contrary to how some teachers may be required to teach, my approach to learning is that there are many ways to reach the answer to a problem. There is still a correct answer, but the way that you get there largely depends on the wya that you approach a given problem. Say goodbye to the days of, "You have to do it this way, or you are wrong," and say hello to the fascinating world that is discovery.
I am structuring the lessons on this service in order to provide a progressive, yet wholistic approach to the topics I will be covering. One lesson will directly lead to another and the one after that will follow suit. Further, questions are HEAVILY encouraged.
What Makes Learning with Me Different: As a tutor, I am unique in that I have been doing this for quite a while at the college level through my old university and can promise a personalized approach to learning that you would not have with someone else. Having taught a wide variety of different students that learn in vastly different ways, I have grown uniquely strong at determining the ways in which different individuals learn. Another unique feature about working with me is that I am very passionate about doing this job. I love to teach and want you to succeed as a student on paper but also with your individual goals. My goal is that you accomplish your goals and that you exist each lesson feeling that much more interested in the material, or that much more confident in your ability to succeed.
Let me help you achieve your goals, learn about the things that fascinate you and about yourself, and uncover some of the mysteries that lie in the subjects that you are encountering!
Yours in education,
Andrew
