About Cass
I am a passionate Chess tutor with 7 years of experience teaching high school and college students. I have successfully taught around 150 students, helping them improve their thinking, strategy, and confidence in the game. My teaching style focuses on clear communication, patience, and creativity. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to fit their needs. I guide students not just to play better but to enjoy and understand the deeper skills that Chess teaches—like focus, planning, and problem-solving. Many of my students have won local tournaments or joined school teams. My goal is to help each learner grow both as a player and as a thinker.

My teaching approach in Chess is based on strong communication, empathy, and creativity. I help students understand the game's logic, patterns, and strategies by breaking down complex moves into simple steps. I believe in a flexible and student-centered style, adjusting my lessons to match each student’s level and learning pace. Problem-solving is key—I train students to think critically, plan ahead, and stay calm under pressure. I also coach Backgammon, Risk, Checkers, and Settlers of Catan, using similar strategies to build focus and decision-making skills. My goal is not just to teach the rules but to inspire a true love for the game.
