About Anne-Charlotte
Having endured a mixed relationship with learning the violin from the age of 6, I feel I have reached a point in my career where learning and playing are consistently rewarding. My previous teacher created a space where learning the violin didn’t feel like a race but rather a process that I could take at my own pace which is an experience I am keen to generate for other keen learners.
The three most important practices that I will incorporate in my teaching are:
1. Guiding students towards repertoire they enjoy listening to - I have found my playing has improved most when learning music I have chosen or expressed interest in
2. Creating frequent goals (e.g. performance opportunities or grade exams) for students so that their learning and progress feels intentional
3. Continuing to advance my own playing abilities and other musical interests outside of teaching to ensure my students are learning from my most advanced perspective.
