  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I was born in a musical environment, my father used to be a professional musician and a maestro, so i started learning music from him and joined the band he conducted to learn more music theory and started playing clarinet when i was 10 years old.
While in the band I developed some passion for drumming so I started learning that too and enjoyed it a lot, drumming basically became my favorite thing, but I stayed with clarinet for a little longer since I joined the Music Conservatory a few years after starting my practice.
Meanwhile a lot of life happened and I quit the Conservatory and left music on stand-by for a few years.
In 2014 I started a garage band project and realized how much I love singing and it was easy to decide that I needed this in my life for ever if possible.
Started practicing everyday, watched countless Youtube videos on how to do this and that and even signed up for singing classes after a couple of years.
Things were serious to me, it was clear that I wanted to be a Pro, so I had to work with like minded musicians so I moved between a few projects.
In 2021 I finally took the next step in my career and signed up for a Vocal Coaching course with Modern Vocal Training. I learned (and continue to learn) so much.
Finished the 1st year (Level 1) in 2022 and had my first students by March 2022.
Around March 2023 I finished Level 2 and was now sure that my knowledge was decent so I focused most of my time on singing, studying and developing a name for myself online.
Started taking Superprof more seriously as I slowly transitioned to be a professional Vocal Coach.
As of now, I am taking the Advanced Vocal Coaching Course from MVT (Level 3) and aim to be as great a Vocal Coach I can be, seeking new and more in depth knowledge.
  • Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

YEAH, I LOVE SOUNDGARDEN, actually I have a Tribute to Chris Cornell called SOUNDGUARDIANS.
I usually prefer Nu-Metal, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Alternative Rock type of stuff. Soundgarden, Alter Bridge, Slipknot, Metallica, System of a Down, Muse, Linkin Park, these are some of my favorite names.
But I enjoy all kinds of music like Blues, Soul, some Pop Rock, Punk, Broadway (Musical Theater)
  • Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

I try to make my classes easy to follow and don't focus on a single course, I adapt to what my students need all the time.
So if I were to come up with a difficult course it would involve things they would struggle the most at that specific time in their technique. It could be long runs, it could be extremely high notes.
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I believe all instruments are easy to learn BUT extremely difficult to master.
I will say that the voice is the hardest to master because there is no visual component, you have to learn with sensations and vibrations, then there are different techniques to change how you sound, you could be more into a Classical type of singing where you use your voice in a very specific way,
or you want to sound heavier, rockier, edgier. You can play with the colors of the voice. You can make it raspier, scream, be pure and clean. An instrument will always be more limited because the shape of the sound will always be similar, or digitally assisted.
  • What are your keys to success?

Focus and perseverance. Success never gives up, success knows failure all too well.
You must have a goal and stick with it. Go for it, every day, even when it feels like things might not look good.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

Serj Tankian, Matt Cameron and Dave Grohll.
Serj Tankian just seems extremely knowledgeable listening to his songs and a rare type of personality that's a mix of very funny and serious (like me ahah)
Matt Cameron played drums for Soundgarden so he knew Chris Cornell, I would love to hear stories of back in the day. Also his drumming is really cool and fills the bands he plays in really well.
Dave Grohl is another personality that I identify with, I love his MO of going forward even when by himself, he was always focused on being successful doing what he loves,
never fell for drugs and like the previous names, he seems extremely likeable.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

I think I was a bit boring during those times, I don't recall anything super funny.
I did have fun and make friends, but I was too young to remember an anecdote, sorry to disappoint!
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I believe the approach of "this is what the student needs" instead of "this is what I teach" or "this is the program to follow" is better for our students. As teachers we have no ego to feed besides boasting about how good our students are.
Focusing on them, making them feel comfortable and safe during classes is more important than showing off how good we are, if we really are good, our students will have results and show them to the world.
What makes me a Superprof is this, I measure my success according to my students success.
