About Ryan
I hold an MA in Spanish for the Professions and have been tutoring adult learners for over 4 years. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping retired individuals find new purpose and joy through Spanish. My sessions are built around patience, encouragement, and personal connection. Every learner brings their own story, and I honor that by tailoring lessons to your interests and pace. Together, we explore Spanish through conversation, cultural anecdotes, and light literature. I teach Spanish with a strong focus on the medical field, combining language skills with real-world healthcare needs. My approach is practical and personalized. Each session includes drills for memorizing professional terms and structured role-plays to simulate patient interactions. We’ll explore conversations for intake, diagnosis, and emergency care. I believe in repetition and real use. That’s why you’ll regularly practice speaking, listening, and interpreting patient needs. I adjust lesson content based on your role—whether you're in general practice, nursing, or physical therapy. Hobbyist learners and travelers also benefit from simplified sessions tailored to basic health vocabulary and useful phrases. Communication in healthcare is about empathy and accuracy. I help you develop both. We go over expressions, tone, and culturally sensitive language. I also provide notes, vocabulary sheets, and custom quizzes.
