About Kian
I'm an experienced teacher, composer and performer. I've played with my own band (Scigod), with Free Rain on musicals in the Q, on the radio with an Indian funk band (Funkaars), and occasional one-off performances. I have a multi-cam setup for online teaching as well as being able to teach privately at my residence which is conveniently located in Braddon.

Keyboard and piano teacher based in Canberra! My name is Kian and I've been teaching piano since 2019. I'm an ANZCA registered teacher and can help you with your exam pieces, with live rigs if you're going to start performing with a digital keyboard rig, or just with casual learning! I've graduated with an honors degree in music from the ANU and have been performing here and there around Canberra. I'm hoping to help musicians like you avoid the frustration of not knowing what to do next or how to get to where they want to be, so if you have a clear goal in mind, I can help you make a lesson plan that'll work for you and keep you on track. One last thing, is that I'll do this for less than you'd have to pay at music schools. Not because I'm feeling generous or to lure you in with discounts, but simply because I don't have overhead costs and your money will not go towards paying admin fees. Win-win!

Kian is a great music teacher, and is highly skilled in the field. From what I can tell, he has a great understanding of his work, and puts a lot of effort into ensuring the best learning experience possible.
Kian has a more laidback attitude to teaching than other teachers, but this allows him to empathize with students and tailor his teaching style to fit the person best.My daughter has been studying piano with Kian for more than 5 years, Kian is very patient with her and helps her improve every lesson I as a parent can also see the improvement. Details
A standard class would be 30 minutes, costing $43. I do not offer free lessons but I do offer a pay-as-you-go model so you don't have to make a long-term commitment. If you're happy with the lessons and choose to continue, you can follow my regular teaching schedule (coinciding with school terms) and get a $30 discount when you pay for 10 lessons.
