About Clara
Hello! As a student myself, and someone who has not always succeeded easily in academics, I understand the pressures and stress that difficult classes can create. Throughout my four years of high school, I grew from a 2.97 GPA to a 4.0 GPA, graduating as valedictorian! Because of this, I believe each and every student is capable of achieving success when given the right support and encouragement. I've been told by previous students that my tutoring sessions "don't feel like tutoring at all" because through jokes, easy-to-understand analogies, and a positive attitude, even the most difficult subjects can become manageable! My goal is to make sure every student I tutor walks away with confidence and a belief in themselves that they can succeed.

Qualifications:
-Tutored students in IB Chemistry and IB English for 1.5 years
- Started a tutoring club and trained 10 other tutors
-Graduated as valedictorian, scoring 42/45 in the International Baccalaureate (40% above the global average)
-Scored 750/800 on SAT English
What I offer:
-Tutoring in IB or AP level chemistry and English
-Tutoring in Algebra 1 and 2
-Tutoring in English and general mathematics for middle school and elementary school students
-One-on-one private tutoring; group tutoring (up to 3 students)

My approach to tutoring is to focus on helping the student gain confidence and comfortability with the subject matter, not solely pursue high marks (as those will come naturally with a solid understanding!) I am compassionate and patient as I empathize with the frustration of struggling with certain classes. I can help students with their homework or prepare my own practice sets/workbooks.
