About Sydney

I have spent the last 3 years teaching special education at a Title-1 elementary school. I did my student teaching there and when I graduated I was offered a job right away. While I was there, I spent time building relationships with my students and families. I made the decision to leave the school to stay home with my new baby.

About the lesson

My lessons differ from day to day. I believe in whole child learning. I love to start the very first time that I met a student/parent is to see what they would like to have accomplished with the time we spend together. I also use this session to get to know my students better (likes, dislikes, strengths, needs, etc). I like to individualize lessons based on the needs of the students. The major thing you can find throughout all my lessons is similar format. We start with a check in (mood meter, what did you do this week/weekend?), review from last time, key concept or main lesson for the day, game (Kahoot, etc.) and then always closing with a quick summary.
