• 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I speak Spanish fluently because of both my environment and intentional learning. Although I wasn't born in a Spanish-speaking country, I moved to Spain at a young age and was immersed in the language through school, daily life, and work. This immersion helped me develop a native-level fluency, which I've continued to strengthen through personal study, teaching, and professional experience.

• 2) Can you name a living, historical, or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  I would say Pedro Almodóvar, the iconic Spanish film director. His work beautifully reflects the complexity, passion, and color of Spanish culture. Through his characters and storytelling, he captures the emotional depth, humor, and social evolution of Spain. His films not only highlight the richness of the Spanish language but also celebrate individuality, identity, and artistic freedom.

• 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behaviour in the language that you particularly like?

  One phrase I love is "No pasa nada".It reflects a very Spanish attitude of staying calm and not overreacting. Or '' Que va'' that means '' Not at all '' or '' Estoy liada'' I'm super busy.

• 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  Spanish means a lot to me because it's helped me connect with so many amazing people and experiences. It's more than just a language. It's a whole world of culture, music, emotion, and real connection. Teaching it lets me share that with others in a fun and meaningful way. I love helping people feel confident using it in everyday life.

• 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  A lot of people struggle with verb conjugations and remembering when to use masculine or feminine words.and yeah, it can feel confusing at first. But the key is to use the language in real-life situations instead of just memorizing rules. I make it simple and fun by focusing on conversation and using examples that actually make sense in everyday life. That way, grammar starts to click without feeling like a chore.

• 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

  Well, you really have to be careful with masculine and feminine in Spanish. For example, "pollo" means chicken, but if you accidentally say "polla"… that means something totally different and not food-related at all! 😂 It's a classic mistake, and honestly, it happens more than you'd think. That's why I always tell my students: don't worry about messing up, just laugh, learn, and keep going!

• 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

  Living and travelling in different regions of Spain exposed me to local dialects and cultural nuances that deepened my understanding of the language. Each region has its accent and slang.

  I'm not only fluent in Spanish, but I understand what it takes to teach it effectively. I'm patient, passionate, and truly care about my student's needs. I use tools that make learning both fun and effective. Being trilingual also gives me insight into how the brain works when switching between languages and I bring that knowledge into every lesson I teach.
