About Shane
With 10 years of tutoring experience, I specialise in teaching Singing to students of all levels—from absolute beginners to aspiring professionals. My teaching style is supportive, enthusiastic, and tailored to each individual’s goals. I focus on vocal technique, breath control, tone, range expansion, and performance confidence, while also weaving in ear training and music interpretation to build strong musicality. I believe in making learning fun and engaging, using creative exercises, real-world singing scenarios, and genre-based exploration (pop, classical, jazz, soul, and more) to keep lessons dynamic and inspiring. Whether you're preparing for performances, auditions, or simply want to find your voice, I help students connect emotionally with their music while building solid technique. My aim is to spark a true love for singing and help each student grow not just as a vocalist, but as a confident performer.

My teaching approach is centred around creating a positive, respectful, and inspiring learning environment where students feel confident and encouraged to express themselves through music. I use positivity to build trust and boost self-esteem, diplomacy to guide students gently through challenges, and integrity to ensure honest, constructive feedback. Every student’s journey is unique, so I tailor lessons to fit individual goals, whether they are beginners finding their voice or advanced learners refining their technique. My methodology combines vocal exercises, breath control, pitch training, ear training, and performance techniques, ensuring a well-rounded development. I also integrate elements of music theory, stage presence, and interpretation to deepen understanding and connection with the music. Alongside singing, I offer instruction in related areas such as choir direction, beatboxing, and instrumental basics (flute, trumpet, saxophone, strings), allowing students to explore music in diverse ways. Ultimately, I aim to help each student discover their voice, grow in confidence, and develop a lasting passion for singing.
