About Luke
It's Luke here. I am a professional musical director and vocal coach. I'm based in the UK and available to teach online or in person (when face-to-face teaching is allowed under gov. guidelines). I teach singers of all abilities and experience- from complete beginner to advanced levels.
Time of Session: Flexible
Fee: £35 for a one hour session
Introductory session: A free half an hour consultation session where we discuss how the sessions would work, what are your musical interests, settle on some repertoire and put clear goals for ourselves.
Genre of Music: Musical Theatre, Pop, Classical, Contemporary, Country, Folk.
Experience of Student: Beginner to Advanced
General Information:
All my sessions are led with no expectation of prior experience from you. The only prerequisite that I expect is a love and willingness to sing. Singing in public can be nerve-wrecking, and I would like to guarantee to you that my lessons are friendly, specifically tailored for your voice, and designed for you to explore how far your voice can go.
I will coach you on how to let go of inhibitions, what music/style best fits your voice type, how to not damage your voice and all the tools you need to become more confident.
The fee will cover all resources needed during the lessons including original exercises tailored for you, to practice at home.
- What will we work on?
The one hour session is split in half an hour of vocal technique and fun insightful warm ups. These include breathing technique, voice stamina, posture, vocal support, how to expand your range, how to mix your head and chest voice, and how to sing safely.
For the other half an hour, we’ll work on a song. We will alternate between songs of your choice and songs that I suggest to push you into becoming a stronger singer.
For singers who are auditioning or building their repertoire, I am happy to work with you on music theory, score notation and choosing material that best shows off your voice.
- Tell me about your qualifications:
I am an award winning theatre and music practitioner. I lead community choirs (Some Voices Pop Choir, Find Your Voice, Wyllyotts Theatre), compose for theatres (Royal Albert Hall, Chickenshed, Old Vic, BEAM2020, V&A Museum, Museum of London) and musical direct casts (National Theatre of Malta, Chickenshed Theatre, V&A Museum, British Library, TMYT). I have an Associate London College of Music Diploma, a DipLCM diploma, Musical Theatre qualifications with the Trinity College of Music, two university degrees and more than 8 years of working in the professional music and theatre industry.
More details about all my work/CV can be found on (concealed information)
