About Sarah
I love working with students to help them achieve their goals. I have worked as a Resident Assistant for three years, identifying diverse student needs, problem-solving solutions, and finding unique ways to use resources to help them overcome challenges. I have done thesis work and extensive research in reading comprehension and scientific literature, and I am always looking for new ways to learn more about education. My lesson plans are personalized to my students' needs and individualities. I help students identify challenges and curate activities to help them overcome their difficulties. I can work with students from 1st-12th grade. A typical lesson plan would encompass the following:
1. Getting to know the student (what subject help is needed, what study tactics work for them, and what specific problem they need help with)
2. Helping students work through problems (edit essays, understand literary or grammatical concepts)
3. Curating activities to reinforce what was learned in the session (running through flashcards, practice problems, or doing fun writing exercises)
