Why Choose Me!
I believe my teaching methodology is transformational due to several key factors that combine the strengths of a robust vocal technique with therapeutic insights. Here's a breakdown of why this synthesis can be so effective:
1. Holistic Approach: By integrating vocal technique and therapy, I address both the physical and emotional aspects of voice. This comprehensive approach ensures my students to not only develop technical skills but also gain confidence and emotional resilience.
2. Personalised Learning. My experience as a therapist allows me to tailor my teaching to individual students' needs, addressing underlying psychological barriers that might hinder vocal performance.
3. Emotional Expression .My experience of working with the inner person I believe can help you unlock your emotional potential, leading to more expressive and authentic singing. This emotional depth can significantly enhance vocal performance.
4. Stress Reduction . Techniques from therapy, such as mindfulness and relaxation, can reduce performance anxiety, allowing students to sing with greater ease and confidence.
5. Body Awareness. Both vocal training and therapy emphasise body awareness. Understanding how emotions manifest physically can help singers use their bodies more effectively to produce sound.
6..Voice and Identity. Singing often involves exploring one's identity and self-expression. Proper and safe vocal training can help students find their unique voice, both literally and metaphorically.
7. Healing Through Singing. Singing can be a therapeutic activity in itself. My thorough methodology likely helps students use singing as a form of self-care and emotional healing.
8. Increased Engagement. By addressing both the technical and emotional aspects of singing, it enables more engagement and motivation, leading to better learning outcomes.
This synthesis creates a powerful learning environment where my students can grow not only as singers but also as individuals, making the experience profoundly transformational.

I am absolutely passionate about singing and in my many years of singing teaching I have seen real transformation through the power of the singing voice.
I teach a very strong vocal technique working holistically, taking the whole person in account and believe and hope my 35 years experience as a singer, singing coach and music director enables me to truly empathise and understand the particular pressures of the singer both beginners singing for fun or the sheer therapy of singing to the demands of the professional singer and work with each individual and unique person to bring about real and lasting change. And it's fun...I have been told by my students that they might come feeling low or tired and go out feeling bright and uplifted!
Further Professional Development
I am now also continuing my own Professional Development by studying Directing for Theatre and in furthering my skills in enabling an integration of strong emotional depth with powerful vocal confidence leading to strong story telling through song enriching stage presence and connecting with the audience big or small.

Sandra is brilliant. I was very anxious about beginning my singing journey again after years and years without singing a note in public. But, as soon as I met Sandra and was greeted by her warm personality, I instantly felt comfortable. Sandra is very supportive of my singing goals and, with her wealth of knowledge and experience, I have full faith that she'll help me achieve them. In just a few months, I've grown in confidence, seen a lot of improvement in my voice, and had a whole lot of fun and laughs. My singing lessons are something I really look forward to. I'd highly recommend Sandra to anyone.
Sandra is an incredible singing teacher! I began singing lessons a few months ago to increase my confidence and also to prepare for open mic performances. My confidence has begun to grow already and with Sandra's encouragement I know it will continue to grow. Sandra is extremely knowledgeable and is always able to answer any questions I have. She has a warm and vivacious personality and I look forward to every lesson. Sandra has a wonderful sense of humour, and I enjoy the craic with her just as much as the singing! I feel that with Sandra's help I will be able to achieve all of my singing goals :-)
Sandra is an amazing teacher with a wealth of genuine experience behind her. I feel that her lessons ( and the vocal exercises which she sends to her students) have really built my voice from being an absolute beginner to someone who is learning to sing with confidence. I still can't believe how far my voice has come in just over a year. Her lessons are practical and informative but most importantly she is s supportive and positive teacher who genuinely cares for her students.
It felt like serendipity that I found Sandra when I did. I'm not a 'singer' as such so I never thought singing lessons were really for me. But, like a lot of people, singing is actually a big part of my life. I sing throughout the day in the background, I sing with my daughter, I sing along in the car, at family parties. But it has always been marred with the evaluative school trauma which made me so self conscious (even when I was alone) that I could never really enjoy it. While going through a rough period with my mental health, I decided that singing could be really useful in helping me to recover if I could just enjoy it. I booked a lesson with Sandra and never looked back.
My only goal was really for singing to feel more natural and enjoyable. Within a few months I’ve achieved that for sure. But beyond that I've gotten SO much out of our lessons. My voice feels like a brand new instrument and I’m loving trying it out on all the same old songs I’ve been singing for years. Even after a few lessons the difference was already night and day (I checked with my husband and he confirmed I wasn’t imagining it!). There are notes that sound good now that were always strained as well as entirely new notes I’ve just never been able to use before. I can sing with an element of ease and fun, which is a completely new feeling for me.
Besides all that, she is just an absolute joy to work with and be around. So THANK YOU Sandra! What you do is truly incredible.I have wanted to learn to sing for so long. Sandra's singing lessons not only focus on singing technique, but her therapy background also helps me to regulate and care for my mental health as a singer. Sandra is the most generous, patient and encouraging teacher ever. She builds an inclusive singing community as well. Highly recommend.
Sandra was amazing, she is a fountain of knowledge and a very great teacher. I would recommend for anyone looking to improve their vocal ability or singing.
I am absolutely loving my singing lessons with Sandra. I had my consultation session back in December 2021 and have been singing with Sandra since then (now 6 months).Sandra has brought such a spark of joy to my 2022, which was so needed after the last couple of years. She is such an expert at her craft, but also so friendly and approachable and ready to help/correct to bring out the best in me. It’s not just my singing that has dramatically improved, with my now being able to hit notes and hold tunes I thought impossible, but also my self-confidence and willingness to try new things! If you want to learn how to sing well but also have the best time doing it, I would really recommend lessons with Sandra
I’ve been coming to see Sandra for singing lessons on and off for years now; each time we pick up exactly where we left off!
Sandra is attentive and dedicated to giving you exactly what you need. Focusing on developing and growing the voice, to unlock your full vocal potential.
She is truly gifted!
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!I'm now well into my second year under the wonderful guidance and tutelage of Sandra, who I originally discovered through the website bark.com. Each lesson, I feel it just gets better and better. Working via zoom is incredibly effective and I believe I benefit just as much as I would if I were there in her studio. I have expanded my vocal skills, learnt so many techniques to develop my singing voice and have established a personal performance style. Together we have selected a repertoire of musical pieces that suit me best. I also get the opportunity to perform on our frequent group zoom concerts, that can often reach out to a worldwide audience. There is also a group vocal practice zoom, which is great because I get the opportunity to meet the other students. Every lesson is an inspiration and Sandra supports and encourages me throughout. As I have stated previously, I can’t stress enough how much joy I get from each lesson and from being part of her student group.
Sandra is a wonderful teacher. She has a thorough knowledge of technique but is also a trained counsellor. She is incredibly patient but also knows when to nudge me out of my comfort zone. I came to her with zero experience but the training has been incredibly valuable. A lesson with Sandra is always the highlight of my week.
Sandra understands that people are all very different, including ones with performing ambitions. She finely tailors her approach according to your aspirations and personality. She has been a rare find for me. Not only does she have vast knowledge of vocal technique, repertoire and stage craft, she also possesses expert knowledge of the complex psychology of the performer, and uses it to get the very best out of her students. Add in boundless energy and enthusiasm, and you have the winning combination to realise your dream of becoming a singing performer!
Sandra Scott as a teacher and coach, I realise... there are not enough words in the English language!
Sandra has amongst many things really shed some light on singing in a key that actually suits my voice is not only benificial physically, but can bring out the signature character of my voice as well. Within just under a year, I feel as though I've changed for the better, thanks to Sandra
My real voice is coming out and I feel unlimited"
Jocasta Roper - SopranoSandra Scott is a gem.
Inspiring, generous and infectiously in love with singing. I feel very lucky to have her in my life!
I was very nervous at the idea of singing in front of anyone - I couldn't even sing to myself - but Sandra's good humour, warmth, encouragement and guidance combined with a profound understanding of great technique has revealed and nurtured a voice I never knew I had.
