About Meera
Hello!
My name is Meera and I recently graduated with a 1st in my degree of MSci Natural Sciences at UCL, specialising in Organic Chemistry, Cell Biology and Genetics.
I have over 6 years of tutoring experience, I tutored for 2 years at my high school and then privately for over 4 years.
I am reliable, patient and adaptable to different learning styles and I know that every student is different so I tailor my sessions specifically to each student and their exam board specification.
My goal is to build your confidence in the subject and keep you engaged during sessions so that you have a greater sense of understanding and feel prepared enough to answer exam questions and achieve your best!

I teach:
A Level Chemistry

In the first session, we would quickly discuss the exam specification and topic areas of that are difficult for the student so that sessions can be focused on areas that they need help with the most.
I encourage my students to ask questions when they arise because it means that they get the most out of a session. There are no silly questions!
My sessions are typically structured as follows:
25mins – Explaining and teaching the topic:
· I give clear explanations and break the topic down into smaller sections.
· I show techniques to remember some of the longer/bulkier information.
· I link the topic with other topics that could be relevant – because these often come up together in exam questions.
20mins –topic-based past paper questions to apply the knowledge that was just learned:
· Focus on accuracy – not waffling in written answers
· Being thorough – recognising what the question is asking you
· Clear answers - using all keywords needed
10mins – Mark schemes and the proper exam technique
5mins – Summary of the session and explaining what we will cover next week.
