About Isabelle Milan
I am a Phd student at the University of Montreal, based in France and Spain. I dedicate myself to the history of art and more broadly to visual culture with a specialty in gender, feminist and queer studies. I have 4 years of university teaching experience with a beginner or more advanced audience.

The objective of this course is to acquire a critical reading grid to approach works of art, but also images of popular culture. It is also an opportunity to celebrate cultural productions that rewrite the norm. The courses are built around themes rather than chronologically and these themes are thought of in an intersectional way. That is, each course is inspired by feminist studies, queer studies, transgender studies, postcolonial studies and disability studies. We will explore key texts of these disciplines, but also more anonymous and contemporary texts and we will create dialogue with the analyzes of the images. The course is structured according to a plan but it will adapt to the expectations of students and to their level.
